Nepal Water for Health (NEWAH) is a national level non-governmental organization (NGO) that specializes in drinking water, health promotion and sanitation. Established in 1992, it had worked actively in partnership with local NGOs. Since 2011 after the roll-out of National Sanitation and Hygiene Master Plan it has been working actively in partnership with local government to serve poor communities securing basic needs of water and sanitation, strengthening the capacity of these partners to undertake further development activities. It has an executive body comprising of 7 members and is affiliated with the Social Welfare council - the governing body of NGO sector in Nepal and is registered with District Administration Office Kathmandu.

Job Description

Summary of Position
To be responsible for raising funds for NEWAH in line with its fund-raising strategy

Line Manager
Reports to the Director

Job Responsibilities
  • To develop a year wise fundraising plan and activities in line with NEWAH's fund raising strategy
  • To assess donor landscape
  • To raise at least USD 100,000.00 by the end of 2019 and as stated in the strategy for the following years
  • To develop wining proposals and submit to potential donors for funding
  • To prepare report to donors as per their requirements and maintain a good empathy of a partner organization
  • To develop fundraising materials as required
  • To remain updated on any fundraising opportunities in country & globally
  • To remain prepared with ready project proposals for submission to donors on demand at a very short notice
  • To network and establish link and communication with major donors in country & with possible collaborative partners
  • To work in coordination and harmony with every staff at all levels
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager
Person Specification
  • At least Bachelor's degree from recognized university with two years of experience preferably in the related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English & Nepali
  • Computer skill in Word, Excel & Power Point for windows
  • Ability to plan and execute a wide range of activities on time
  • Ability to work hard under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to initiate and complete task to a high standard with minimum supervision
  • A genuine interest in development and empathy with NEWAH's work and ethos
Working Condition
  • This position is based in NEWAH Headquarters, Kathmandu with occasional visits to the field to understand NEWAH’s work on ground and to prepare proposals based on the ground reality.
 
Salary and Benefits (F Level)
  • Starting   Salary NRS 42,000.00 per Month
  • Dearness Allowance NRS 18,300.00
  • One-month Dashain Bonus of Basic salary
  • PF as per rules.
  • Accidental & Medical insurance as per rules.
  • Total 33 annual leave and 15 days public holiday.
  • Others: As per the rules of the organization.
 
 
 

Protocols for the confidentiality

“Protocols for the confidentiality” is designed to collect and maintain identifiable information about applicants. Data will be collected anonymously by the specified person and will be removed and destroyed as soon as possible by the completion of this specific assignment. No access to any other organizations/ person and shall be based on a “need to know” and "minimum necessary" standard.

CONFIDENTIALITY PROTOCOL— PROTECTION OF INFORMATION OF APPLICANTS

STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL

Information, applications and documents that are deemed to be of a highly sensitive nature or to be inadequately protected by the CONFI¬DENTIAL classification shall be classified as STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL and access to them shall be restricted solely to persons with a specific need for specific assignment only.

The staffs of the Rolling Plans including client institution shall establish a control and tracking system for documents classified as STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL, including the maintenance of control logs. Documents classified as STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL shall be (i) maintained by only specific staff with written commitment; (ii) kept under security key or given equivalent protection when not in use; and (iii) in the case of physical documents, transmitted by an inner envelope indicating the classification marking and an outer envelope indicating no classification, or, in the case of documents in electronic form, transmitted by encrypted or password-secured system.

For purposes of this protocol, the following individuals are deemed to have a specific need to know: (i) the executive consultant; (ii) the project manager/recruitment and selection consultant; (iii) the international consultant of Rolling Plans and; (v) the respective designated representatives of Government of Nepal.

Confidentiality pertains to the treatment of information that an individual has disclosed in any documents/files of trust and with the expectation that it will not be divulged to others/ process without permission in ways that are inconsistent with the understanding of the original disclosure. Rolling Plans assure that the information shall be used for specific purpose published in this system and service only.

When it is necessary to collect and maintain identifiable data, Rolling Plans will ensure that the protocol includes the necessary safeguards to maintain confidentiality of identifiable data and data security appropriate to the degree of risk from disclosure.
